We’d like to begin by extending a heartfelt thank you to Sarah, Cozy and Paul for inviting us to serve as your Vice Captains.

You’ve had a fantastic year, and there’s no doubt you achieved what you set out to do – have fun!

2024 also brought some glorious weather – they say the sun shines on the righteous, and it certainly did for the key events, lets hope we have similar fortune.

As we move into spring, we’re thankful for the fantastic weather so far albeit the Greenkeepers are praying for rain.. We’re all looking forward to the coming year and feel truly privileged and honoured to be your Captains.

Stanton-on-the-Wolds holds a special place in our hearts. It’s a club with a rich history, loyal members, dedicated staff, and a stunning course. We’re incredibly lucky to be part of such a wonderful community.



Now a little piece about our Charity, Both Di and myself have chosen to Support Dove Cottage Day Hospice.

They provide high-quality palliative day care for people in North East Leicestershire, Rutland, and South East Nottinghamshire who are living with life-limiting illnesses such as dementia, cancer, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s, and COPD.

Their guests visit the hospice for a day each week, where they receive expert nursing care in a warm, home-like environment.

They offer a range of wellbeing activities, including complementary therapies, chaplaincy support, games, crafts, and social engagement.

Guests also enjoy refreshments and a freshly prepared, home-cooked lunch.



Looking ahead, our aim for 2025 is simple: to enjoy great golf and even better company. We’re here to support you and make this a memorable year.

We’ll be listening to your feedback, open to your ideas, and sharing regular updates to keep you informed.
We may not be able to please everyone all the time, but we’ll always do our best to do what’s right for the members.


We’ll also continue to support our fantastic team – from the Office and the Clubhouse to the Greenkeepers and the Pro Shop.

We ask you to join us in recognising the many volunteers who give their time and energy behind the scenes.
Their contributions are invaluable, and we know you’ll agree their efforts deserve our appreciation.


To sum up, we want to build on the successes of last year – with more fun, more golf, some rain, and a lot more sunshine!
