Junior Open 2016
16 players took part in the 2016 Stanton Junior Open on Wednesday 17th August.
The weather was perfect for golf, and with fast-running fairways leading to near-perfect greens there were some excellent scores.
The winner of the Hamilton Trophy was Ciaran Higgins (Sittingbourne & Milton Regis) with a brilliant nett 62, which included an eagle 3 on the long par five 17th. Ciaran also won the Daily Telegraph best nett for Boys, with the equivalent prize for Girls won by Aimee Cleminson (Charnwood Forest).
The Daily Telegraph Scratch prize for Boys was won by 6 handicap Harry Danzey (Mapperley) on count-back with a 79, and the equivalent prize for Girls was won once again by Stanton's own Georgia Viggers.
Many thanks again to all concerned who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of these Open Events.
Hopefully all the competitors enjoyed their day at Stanton-on-the-Wolds, and will come back again and visit us next year, if not before.

Ladies Open 2016
The day dawned grey but was soon brightened up by the colourful arrival of the Lady competitors which in turn lightened both the weather and the mood.
108 Ladies from 26 clubs situated around the Country enjoyed a "wonderful course, food, and a competition away" (their words!) and a promise to return next year.
The scores ranged from very respectable to excellent, so congratulations are due not only to the winners but to all the participants.
Many thanks also to all the usual suspects who contributed to the day's success.
