The InterClub Scratch Team selected to represent Stanton for the AWAY match vs College Pines (Worksop) on TUESDAY 28th May was:-
- Sam Horsley (lost 4&3)
- Jon Kisby (lost 1 down)
- Tom Bagshaw (lost 2&1)
- Tom Davies (lost 4&3)
- Rob Dunn (lost 1 down)
This was my first visit here and I was impressed with the 6800 yard layout - an impressive setting. It must be said that the greens and fairways were not in the best of condition and nor was the weather all the players having to endure a good prolonged soaking.
First to play, Sam, faced the recently crowned Notts Amateur Champion Darren Kirton who plays off +2 handicap. Unfortunately Sam gifted the first two holes and was beaten in a high quality game. Jon Kisby, Tom Bagshaw and Rob Dunn all lost very tight matches where the only difference was chip-ins and long putts holed by the opposition. Tom Davies came up against a birdie machine who fired 6 at him, and did well to fight back from being dormie 6 down.
The evening was rounded off by the staple meat pie meal.

There is still a long way to go in this season with the majority of the matches played being won by the home club. If we continue to win our home matches and can also manage to pick up the odd crumb away from home then we are still in with a shout of topping this league.
Once again I must once again thank those stalwart Members who made the long trip to support the team.
