My time to be your Lady Captain has arrived quickly, I am ready to represent you, so proud to have been given the honour and will do the best I can for you and our wonderful Club. I hope Ladies you are ready for me! I am also honoured to be the first Lady Captain to work with a Lady President, so Bridgett I am here to support you.
I have had a fantastic year working with Immediate Past Captain Jacquie and would not have missed it, so thanks for asking me. I thank Jane Harby for agreeing to become my Vice-Captain. I am confident we will make a great team, what I don't know about golf, Jane most certainly will.
I’m looking forward to welcoming many new Lady Members during my year as well as meeting and greeting members from other courses who come to play at SWGC.
Changes will continue to be made to the course during my year and I am looking forward to seeing these develop. And on the topic of change, it is something that is inevitable. It occurs whether we like it or not and when we have the opportunity to influence it, we should embrace it to our advantage. I will support you with that in mind.
I’ve worked with the Social Committee to put together a varied Social Programme that I hope you will lend your support to. I will always be looking for Ladies, and Gents, to join me on the Lady Captain's table on these occasions.
Lastly I am looking forward to working with Captain John Gibson. We have chosen The Motor Neurone Disease Association as our charity. And with my working background it was natural that we choose to raise money to support research into this crippling disease that varies from person to person, but attacks motor neurones leading to muscle wasting.
Let's have a wonderful season, being mindful of the work others are doing on our behalf, and let's continue to have fun.
My very best wishes,
Lady Captain 2017-2018
