A Hole-in-One at 12 years of age
We are delighted to announce that one of our newest and youngest members David Ryalls (age 12 years) scored a Hole-in-One while submitting his final card for initial handicap allocation - achieved on the 2nd hole at Stanton. He was partnering his (very) low handicap Dad, Kirk, who is also a new recruit to our ranks.
The Club Manager, in one of his jocular moods, quipped that David had been advised that whilst he will get a Hole-in-One Tie, he won’t be allowed to drink the customary golden nectar normally awarded for such a feat - well not whilst on Club premises, anyway!
Kirk, a former +3 player, is the second leading qualifier for the final of Stanton's Best Putter, so clearly there is much golfing talent in the family. We look forward with interest to watching David's progress in the Junior ranks and beyond.
We have just been informed that David has successfully attended County trials at Oakmere Park GC for the Nottinghamshire County Boys U14 squad for 2018, and has accepted the subsequent invitation to join. He is extremely proud to be representing Stanton-on-the-Wolds GC, and will be attending monthly coaching sessions, team matches and other squad commitments.
