Many congratulations to the Stanton Juniors Team who have won their division in the Notts Union of Golf Clubs Junior Interclub Leagues and hence gained promotion to Division 2 next season. Starting with a whitewash home win against Newark in their first match, Stanton maintained their dominance in their league throughout the season, only losing one match to Wollaton Park away. Their final match, against Edwalton away, also resulted in a whitewash win.

Leader of the pack, ever-improving James Hernon, the Juniors' Captain, led by example and was undefeated in all of his matches - a string of excellent results against some very talented opposition. Most of James' matches were won out in the country - he must have access to a good coach!

A special mention must be made of our two Junior Girls, Emily Walden and Esme Hamilton, who were also undefeated throughout the campaign. Stars of the future, for sure!

Last but not least, ever-present Sam Horsley scored 6½ points out of  a possible 7 - another highly commendable performance.

The success of our Junior Team is attributable not only to all the players, but to the organisers and backroom staff who have contributed in no small way to the Team's achievements. The Club owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to all concerned, especially Joe Stocker and Bridgett Patrick, who have devoted many hours of their time, both on and off the course, to our Juniors.
