Dear Member,
I am looking forward to my year as Gents' Captain and maintaining its traditions.
The Club is now 106 years old and has a great history.
This is the fifth Golf Club I have been a member of, and by far the best.
I think we can all feel lucky that this is a true Members' Club and the envy of other clubs around, especially our greens.
Trish Annesley, the Lady Captain, and I have chosen the same Charity this year :
“When you wish upon a Star”
This is a Nottingham based charity that tries to make wishes of very seriously ill children come true.
A truly worthwhile charity, which hopefully you will all support.
This is the year of many great sporting events as well as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and it is the intention of the Social Committee to try and link in with some of them. As you will also see we have incorporated the main social events in this Diary making it unnecessary to produce a separate Social Calendar. The Diary is now also live on our Web Site and we have had great feedback. Well done to all concerned in its development.
On a final note, we must not lose sight of the fact that this is a “Golf Club”, with the simple aim of being able to enjoy playing this great game.
Have a very enjoyable year’s golf, and I hope to see many of you at some of my year’s social events.
Richard Pell
