Congratulations again to Stanton-on-the-Wolds golfer Charlie Banks who, fresh from his recent win in the Scottish Seniors Open Amateur Stroke Play Champion, has been selected to represent England Seniors in the Seniors Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa GC on the 13th - 15th September, 2011.

Inaugurated in 2001, the annual round robin series of matches between Scotland, England and Ireland and Wales, is for Senior Amateur Golfers (55 years and over) selected by their respective Home Union. Each team is represented by seven players who play three foursomes and six singles on each of the three days of competition.

A former England international and Brabazon winner, this is the first year for Charlie amongst the senior ranks.

All his friends and supporters at Stanton wish him well. Woodhall Spa is not that far from Stanton, so should anyone fancy a drive over there to see some of the best senior amateur golfers in the UK, their presence would be much appreciated.
