Captain's Day 2014 - Mr Andrew Tuttey

In similar conditions to last year and in spite of earlier predictions of monsoon-like weather, this year's event took place in glorious wall-to-wall sunshine. Scores on the back nine were noticeably worse than on the front nine - a testament to the excellence of the beverages, nibbles and entertainment provided by the Captain and his Team of Helpers at the Half Way Hut.

See the gallery below - where those who still have some, tended to let their hair down in a variety of silly poses for snap-happy Chris Bailey-Slater!

Without question the day went ahead exactly as planned, and fullfilled its promise to be an extravaganza of sport and entertainment - golf during the day, with an excellent meal followed by the Sam Franklin disco in the evening.

Congratulations to all who won prizes, especially the outright winners of the Captain's PrizeMaurice Hume (4) & Barry Dawson (8) with a fine Stableford score of 46 points.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the day's events, especially those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and helped everything run so smoothly.

In excess of £1000 was raised for the Captains' charity Guide Dogs for the Blind

Mr Captain - "You did us all proud" - very many thanks from "The Members".
