B&W Ball August 2014

The Annual Stanton Summer Ball took place at Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club on Saturday 30th August 2014. This year our innovative Social Committee willingly and ably led by Chris Cowell-Slater decided on a Black and White theme, to which all 70 plus who attended responded enthusiastically, as witnessed by the selection of stunning photographs shown below.

The musical entertainment was provided by Tess and the D'Urbervilles - a highly talented and versatile band making their first appearance at the Club. Their repertoire seemed well suited to all ages and tastes, so it would be no surprise if a return visit were on the cards.

Colin and his Team pulled out all the stops to ensure that the food and service were of the highest standard, superbly complemented by the outstanding decor and decorations, beautifully presented by Norman and his "Little Helper" Angela.

It was again most gratifying to see several new Members in attendance, many of whom voiced their appreciation of the novel event. Even more encouraging were the plaudits of the "regular wrinklies" - "Just like the old days" was an oft-repeated comment.

Here, in THREE groups, is a selection from the Happy Snappies taken by the Social Chair. A similar display (less any captions!) can sometimes be seen playing in a photographic collage on the TV foyer, along with some of the Band's numbers.
